Once you have logged in, copy tinyurl.com/yncmascotvoting2 into your browser’s address bar to return to the voting page.

This second round of voting contains the top 3 mascot choices from the previous round: Clouded Leopard, Kingfisher and Whale. Please select the ranking option that best matches your preferences. You can rank either 3, 2 or only 1 mascot choice.

Please refer below for a summary of the pros and cons of each mascot option, or the following for the minutes from the Mascot Public Debate: Mascot Debate Minutes 23 March 2016

ON RESULTS TABULATION

The results will be analysed using the weighted sum model to identify the most preferred choice. This will be done by assigning a weight to each rank, and tabulating the total weighted ranks for each mascot option.

For example, a vote for ‘Clouded Leopard  >  Kingfisher  >  Whale’ would result in the the Clouded Leopard receiving a weight of “3”, the Kingfisher receiving a weight of “2”, and the Whale receiving a weight of “1”.

A vote for ‘Whale  >  Kingfisher’ would result in the Whale receiving a weight of “3”, the Kingfisher receiving a weight of “2”, and the Clouded Leopard receiving a weight of “0”.

A vote for ‘Kingfisher’ would result in the Kingfisher receiving a weight of “3”, and both the Clouded Leopard and Whale receiving a weight of “0”.

At the end of the voting, all the weights for each mascot option will be added together, and the mascot option with the greatest sum will be put up for ratification.
